18/04/2015 Honourable President THIRUVEGAPPURA GRAMA PANCHAYATH THIRUVEGAPPURA (PO) PALAKKAD (DT) KERALA – 679 304
Dear Sir, I am writing this letter on behalf of my elderly mother (76 years old) staying alone at the following address: SATHYABHAMA JAYASREE NIVAS (ANAYATH PISHARAM) THIRUVEGAPPURA (PO) – 679 304 Ph: 2218458 Mob: 9400344606
I would like to bring the following issue to your kind notice and immediate action. I had visited my mother for VISHU and I was aghast to see that garbage from different parts of the neighbouring areas is being discarded in our plot indiscriminately. It was also seen that waste materials from hotels, especially unused and decayed meat, are also dumped. It was stinking like anything and whenever there was a small wind I was not able to sit in our house. Crows and stray dogs were found to feast on this stuff making the situation worse. If immediate action is not initiated, this is going to be a health- hazard not only to my family but to all other families in the neighbourhood. I was able to see crows picking up waste materials and dropping them in the river. I was able to see stray dogs carrying the entire polythene-bags containing wastes. If this is the situation they must be dropping waste materials in the wells also which we may not notice. This is definitely going to trigger some serious disease very soon. Rainy season is on the way and I am sure that the situation will become more grave. I am attaching a few photographs that I have taken for your kind information and perusal. Now I request the Hon. President to look in to this matter and do the following on priority basis: (1) Clean the area immediately (2) Take stringent measures to make sure that garbage is not dumped in future.
I have read from news-paper that our Panchayath is the winner of Swaraj Trophy for the year 2013-14. I sincerely appreciate all the developmental activities initiated and implemented by you. However I request you to pay more attention on cleanliness, sanitation and hygiene so that the entire population of Thiruvegappura Panajayath lead a healthy living. When the whole country is running towards cleanliness through “SWACH BHARATH ABHIYAN”, why should we take a back seat?
With sincere regards,
